More about Russell

Russell has achieved his Nationally Certified Recovery Coach Levels 1 & 2 and has taken additional Ethics and Responsibilities Training. He holds a clinical certification as a trauma and addiction specialist through the Arizona Trauma Institute. He is currently studying his Masters in Mindfulness under Kain Ramsay through The Academy of Modern Applied Psychology and is also trained in practicing yoga (Hatha, Nidra and Vinyasa), meditation (combining multiple disciplines) and sound and music therapy.

Russell is a recovering alcohol and addict who has walked the path of helping others even before his own recovery journey started 18 years ago. His life, relationships and health were on a downward spiral due to his dependency on alcohol and drugs to cope with the pain of trauma, childhood sexual abuse, abandonment, grief and loss.

Russell’s recovery journey has been a long and winding road through several alcohol and addiction programs, as well as different modalities of mental health therapy and institutions, making his life and recovery experiences a solid base of knowledge to draw from for his clients.

Russ for over twenty years was a professional world touring musician for international top recording artists and bands. He recognizes the challenges of maintaining a professional career and public life while working your personal recovery. Russell has coached professional musicians and has successfully helped them to meet and finish their touring obligations.

Russ brings a no-nonsense approach to sobriety with radical acceptance and a deep compassion. He is very easy to talk with and connect to, and will meet you where you are, respecting that everyone’s recovery journey is unique, and helping his clients Meet life on life’s terms.
