We believe all substances and behaviours of addiction were born as a means to cope with pain. The pain of broken attachments, witnessing or experiencing abuse, insecurity, loss, shame and guilt. How can you let go of the ways you cope, even when they now make things worse, if you don’t deeply understand what got you here in the first place? If you don’t know what else you can do to avoid living in misery, gradually losing everything that matters to you?
